Day 14 → A hero that has let you down. (letter)
This is a toughie. I've talked about disappointments from my family and my husband before but I really don't wanna go there anymore. I don't think it's right to dwell on that and I wanna move forward. So instead I wanna talk about someone (not a hero) who is constantly letting me down and that's myself.
Dear Self,
It's time you made a change in your outlook on life and therefore your relationships and your happiness. It's time you stopped letting yourself down. It's time you started living up to your potential. It's time for no more regret.
On a sidenote: I would totally appreciate any suggestions of books to read on personal relationship, or personal success or stuff like that. I just finished reading an awesomely fantabulous book called The Traveler's Gift recommended by the wonderful Amanda atEnchanting Havoc I would highly recommend it.

We all need a good shake sometimes... Thanks for the reminder. Wish I had a book to recommend but thanks for yours!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Man oh man. Have I felt this way more often than not! And currently so. I wish there was some sort of switch that I could just flip to start being the person I want to be and know I should & can be...but sometimes its just too exhausting...
ReplyDeleteThis is a great letter Tylaine. We all need to hear this for ourselves. I'm glad you are trying to think better of yourself because you really are such a great girl. I am so happy we are friends. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd recommend 'How to hug a Porcupine' by John Lund or 'Change Your Brain, Change Your Life' by Daniel Amen. Those 2 are the best I've read.
ReplyDeleteI think it takes a strong person to look inward and realize they need to make changes.
ReplyDeleteI haven't really read any self-help books but there are a ton out there that are supposed to be very helpful!
We are on the same day of The 30 Days of Truth!! I just have to say WAY TO GO for reading The Traveler's Gift! I'm so happy you read it... isn't it amazing?
ReplyDeleteI just finished another by Andy Andrews that was really good as well... it's called The Noticer.
If you haven't read the Secret, THAT IS A MUST. You will start to see things changing as you apply it to your life.
Changing ourselves, or actually even acknowledging that we need to change ourselves to better our lives is a HUGE step. It took me so many years to get to this point and now that I've had a taste of what positive thinking and reading is doing for me... I can't stop! It's addicting, but it's such a good addiction, because my life is reaping the benefits of it.
Every Monday I'm doing some post in regards to personal development or inspiration or something like that for my Motivating Monday. So always make sure to hop over there and read there as well.
I'm proud of you, Tylaine :) And just like Laura said ~ I'm so happy we are friends!
Fantastic letter!
ReplyDeleteI am still trying to find this book I heard about that is awesome for mommys finding themselves again. If I ever find it, I will share!
